Mental Health Act Survey

November 2016

The Mental Health Alliance, a coalition of over 75 organisations united by a common interest in fair implementation of the Mental Health Act, has launched an survey on the Act.

We need your help to ensure the survey represents a range of views. This is your opportunity to help us influence the Government and other stakeholders in future reform of the Act.

The Mental Health Act has a huge impact on the lives of people needing mental health treatment, and there are mixed views about how the Act works in practice.

The survey is designed to gather your views on the principles of the Mental Health Act and how people’s rights are currently protected, where this is working well and what could be changed and improved.

If you have experience of the Mental Health Act, this is your chance to be heard. Whether you have experience of mental illness, are a family member, carer or loved one, or a mental health professional, we’d love to hear from you.

You don’t need to be an expert on the Mental Health Act as information is provided throughout the survey.

We want as many people as possible to take the online survey, but if you're not able to complete the survey online, there are other ways to get involved.

The survey has now closed. Thank you to everyone who took part.
